The donated yarn is diverted from landfill by FabMo, an ecologically minded nonprofit. I know many of these are acrylic from projects I have done, but those without labels are unknown. I washed it in cold water with a gentle dry to be safe
This is a unique, one-of-a-kind item. I have found that crocheted blankets can last for decades and be passed to the next generation, bringing the memories of their use with them.
